You are correct that Robinhood retains certain personal information to comply with our obligations as a regulated financial institution. However, it isn’t accurate to say there is no way to terminate your relationship or permanently close your account. We do allow customers to deactivate/close their accounts so that no new activity can occur; closing your account ends your active brokerage relationship, even though we must retain some records for required legal and regulatory retention periods. Even after a closure, you can still log in to access required documents (like tax forms) and to manage your remaining privacy settings, but you cannot use the account to trade.

You’re also right that there are categories of information that we do not delete in response to a standard deletion request  Robinhood honors deletion requests to the extent permitted by applicable law, but not all personal information is deleted. When you submit a “non?essential data” deletion request.

For your current request to delete all remaining data categories, our position is that we’re unable to delete additional categories that are subject to those legal and regulatory retention requirements.
